Energis is the British Telecoms Operator that took over Enertel in the Netherlands in the year 2000 as part of their European expansion policy.

2002 – 2003 NykampNyboer Visual Performance, Human Resources Director
NykampNyboer is an international consulting company for visual performance and market communications.

2003 - Vital Performance, Founder / Director
Vital Performance is a Business Consulting organization that focuses on Performance Management and Leadership Development. 

2004 - Florida Management School, Co-Founder / Director
The international Florida Management School is specialised in personal effectiveness through application of neuroscientific technology.

Professional Development

Gerard started out as a conceptual designer for Capgemini after receiving his training in IT and his first years of IT experience with Agridata in the Netherlands. He was motivated by creating solutions that were innovative and had a clear added value to achieve things that were otherwise impossible or difficult to obtain.

He soon learned that project results were more dependant on the opportunity for project members to give their best talents, than on their formal education. Since all professionals at Capgemini were well educated and trained he fully focused on gathering the right people for the job and creating the space they needed to perform.

The second thing he learned to manage were client expectations. If he could align these with the best talents of his people great things were achieved. To help clients operate from a solutions point of view he moved to Sales where he was in constant contact with client needs and one level higher on their decision making scale.

The high tide of IT was on and it became more difficult to attract enough highly skilled professionals to staff the multitude of challenging projects. With his Sales background Gerard took up recruitment as a necessity and immediately turned the function around 180 degrees. Since he had no purchasing experience he started selling Capgemini careers to experienced professionals and graduates. That proved to be a wonderful formula and it required him to create the best career paths. His entry into the realm of HR was now official.

When Energis invited him to join the board as HR Director he readily accepted with the intention to learn from the British corporate culture. He was taught the British style in HR, which he loved immediately, because it seemed to be much more business oriented than the Dutch supportive HR culture he saw around him. After the decline of the Telecoms industry he joined the board of NykampNyboer to implement his new found experiences in a young and fast growing company.

Knowing that he would give his best input in the first year of an assignment, realizing that he is a starter and an inspirator of movement, he decided to start his own company that is fully dedicated to high performance and value creation services. That's where his heart, his drive and his insights have always been.

The only bottleneck in his British styled hands-on Performance Management approach was the limitations and emotional blockers inside the individuals he worked with. His encounter with Jacob Korthuis, a US based self-made free-thinking researcher, could hardly be coincidence. Korthuis had developed a neuroscientific toolset that was so powerful that they had to think of ways how to limit the impact of the product in stead of boosting it.

Together they founded the Florida Management School that is dedicated to bringing their product PMA to the business market through a network of independent Trainers / Entrepreneurs.

Conclusion

Making people work with pleasure, inspiration, passion and high effectiveness has always been the guiding star in Gerard's career. He calls it creating an abundance of value in many forms. His services, that he presents together with his business partners, are an outstanding selection of the best available solutions in the field.
